Rose Mary’s Story

Every individual facing cancer has a unique and powerful story to share. When Rose was diagnosed, her first thought was, "No way, not me." Engaged in a fulfilling retirement filled with golf, tennis, yoga, and a beloved part-time job, she initially couldn't believe the gravity of her situation. Despite experiencing symptoms and a CAT scan revealing the disease in March 2008, surgery confirmed that she had Stage 3 ovarian cancer.

With exceptional medical care and the unwavering support of her family, Rose Mary faced her journey with remarkable courage and maintained a quality of life for nearly five years. Though she ultimately lost her battle in July 2012, her beautiful spirit continues to inspire us all.

Rose’s story mirrors that of many women diagnosed with late-stage ovarian cancer. The subtle and vague symptoms often lead women to ignore them or dismiss them as less severe.

Rose Mary, along with her family and friends, founded this grassroots ovarian cancer foundation, ensuring her voice resonates powerfully beyond her time here. Our mission is to raise awareness of the subtle signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer, educate the community, and provide vital support and resources to those affected by this disease.
